The October 8th-9th weekend will be mucho fun! Not only will there be CicLAvia numero tres on Sunday October 9th, that's not all! There's Tour de Fat on Saturday October 8th. If going to both events, you might want to take advantage of Metrolink's convenient new $10 weekend pass.

Tour de Fat is a masssssive festival hosted by New Belgium Brewing, makers of Fat Tire Ale and supporters of CicLAvia. Tour de Fat features music, performers, folly, art, y plenty of other fun bike-themed fun. Dress festively for the bike parade at 11am. Admission is free - but bring beer money; your purchases support fellow L.A. bike organizations C.I.C.L.E., the Bicycle Kitchen, and the Los Angeles County Bicycle Coalition. TdF takes place from 10:30am to 5pm at Los Angeles State Historic Park, 1245 N. Spring Street in Chinatown. RSVP and share TdFLA with their convenient Facebook event.

Maybe you're thinking "I love living in Tustin and I gotta get to CicLAvia and Tour de Fat, and I don't wanna spend all weekend on the freeway." Well... Metrolink has a solution for you! Metrolink is L.A.'s regional rail, with lines extending into Antelope Valley, Santa Clarita, Riverside, San Bernardino, Orange County, Ventura y mas! Take Metrolink to Union Station, then it's very short walk or ride to CicLAvia and Tour de Fat.

You can take your bike on any Metrolink train - just look for the bike symbol showing which door is most convenient. Metrolink has some muy recent good news: New bike cars and new weekend passes!

  • Metrolink has new bike cars! These special bike-outfitted train cars have space for at least 18 bicycles. Each regular Metrolink train car generally has space for two or three bikes. Look for the yellow "BICYCLE CAR" sign to try out the new bike cars on your way to CicLAvia!
  • Metrolink has new $10 weekend passes. Ride as much as you like from Friday evening to Sunday evening, for just $10.

If you don't bike, don't feel left out! You can easily walk (or if you want to go further, take Metro rail) from Union Station to CicLAvia and to Tour de Fat. Both events are great on bike and great on foot!
