CicLAvia is working closely with South L.A. leaders to gradually extend the CicLAvia route southward into vibrant communidades south of the 10 Freeway. South L.A. non-profits, business owners, residents, and youth work with CicLAvia on a South L.A. Host Committee which calls itself Free the Streets.

Free the Streets has hosted a community CicLAvia-route-planning process, has held community bike rides and bike workshops... and, on November 5th, will host the Free the Streets fundraiser party. It takes place Saturday November 5th from 2pm-10pm at Mercado La Paloma, 3655 South Grand, L.A. 90007.

If you enjoyed the African American Firefighter Museum hub during CicLAvia, which Free the Streets created, then you'll love the November 5th party! There will be music, lowrider bikes, art, videos, photo booths, bike valet y mas! Delicious music courtesy of KCRW DJ Garth Trinidad!! Mas details coming pronto. And your $10 entry supports bringing CicLAvia to South L.A. and making South L.A. streets safer and more bike-friendly!
