Road to CicLAvia - Antonio's

by Dana Variano-Comisi, Digital Media Manager

The planning of each CicLAvia takes, believe it or not, upwards of two years. Planning, working with the city, community groups, outreach, more planning - there's a lot to be done. As a result, our staff has the opportunity to explore the neighborhoods on the CicLAvia route. By the time event day rolls around, any one of us can tell you the best juice spot nearby, or our favorite taco stand. It's time to stop keeping this special information to ourselves. So, we've decided to start The Road to CicLAvia, where we'll highlight some of our favorite places that we discover through blogs, photos, videos, and more. Follow along to get to know your city better, and so you know exactly where to go on CicLAvia day!

Antonio's

Lately, we've been hanging around a lot in Pacoima. It's no secret. We love the folks at Pacoima Beautiful, and we can't keep away from Antonio's. What's Antonio's, you ask? Well let me tell you...

Antonio's Tacos & Kabobs brings two of my favorite types of food under one roof, ensuring that I will take twice as long to decide what I want as usual! Mediterranean fair like Falafel, tabbouleh, and kabobs make up half the menu, while the other half has Mexican staples like tacos, burritos and tostada salads.

Henny, Mary, Mercedes, Josh and myself recently took a lunch break at Antonio's and there was not one sad face in the bunch. The place was buzzing at lunch time, but we only had to wait a few minutes for a table. Rice bowls, tostada salads, and hummus plates covered our table within ten minutes of ordering, and soon we were all in the food zone, focused on the amazing lunch laid out before us. The prices were great as well: we were able to fill up for well under 7 dollars each! Located at 13630 Van Nuys Blvd, right on the upcoming CicLAvia route, Antonio's is highly recommended for a pit stop.
