Volunteer Spotlight: Gabriel Bang, Office Volunteer

In the summer of 2016, CicLAvia staff met Gabriel Bang who is a Los Angeles Native and current resident of Downtown Los Angeles. Gabe approached volunteering with CicLAvia with an eagerness and willingness to help that was contagious. He's been volunteering in our office since then, helping with research, Road to CicLAvia posts, data entry, and more. Find out more about Gabe, and his take on volunteering with CicLAvia!

Culver City meets Venice, because you can end at the beach, and who doesn't love the beach on a beautiful spring day!

What has surprised you the most about volunteering with CicLAvia?

The most surprising thing is how much fly CicLAvia gear we have!

Tell me about someone who has influenced your decision to volunteer with CicLAvia.

I went with Tafarai Bayne to my first CicLAvia and he's the one who introduced me to the whole CicLAvia squad!

What's your personal philosophy on why open-streets are so important.

I think open-streets are important because its strengthens communities by bringing people together in a very unique setting.

What would you tell someone who is thinking bout volunteering for CicLAvia?

DO IT NOWWWW (in an Arnold accent). But in all seriousness, it's an absolute pleasure to meet and work with so many different positive influencers of this amazing city of ours!
