Activities abound along the CicLAmini—Wilmington route! You can also check out shops, eateries, local gems, and activities along the route using our interactive digital map!

Hubs

All Hubs will have:

  • Free water stations and restrooms
  • First Aid stations
  • Bike parking
  • Free pedicabs – the pedicabs stop at each Hub's Info Booth, so just look for the sign! First come first served.
  • Free bike repair (more info below)

Banning Park Hub

LADOT and StreetsLA will be sharing information about the Wilmington Safe Streets Project, which includes safety improvements for Anaheim Street. Learn more about the project and speak to LADOT and StreetsLA staff about the improvements.

The Los Angeles Department of Neighborhood Empowerment will be joining CicLAvia to share more information regarding Neighborhood councils and will be distributing LA city free swag (while supplies last)!

The Los Angeles Lead Hazard Remediation Program will provide educational information about their Lead-Based paint grants and healthy homes assessments. 

Visit the office of City Controller of Los Angeles, Kenneth Mejia to learn more about their upcoming projects and goals!

The Los Angeles Reforms for Equity and Public Acknowledgment of Institutional Racism (L.A. REPAIR) is L.A.'s first participatory budget pilot program. L.A. REPAIR will distribute roughly $8.5 million directly to nine L.A. City neighborhoods, called REPAIR Zones. Swing by their booth to learn more!

The Los Angeles Public Library will be sharing information about all the free resources and programs at the library! They will also be assisting folks with signing up for library cards.  

Please stop by the Caltrans District 7 booth to get information and provide your feedback on upcoming bicycle and pedestrian projects in the area. Learn more about opportunities to work at Caltrans as well!

PlayLA Youth and Adaptive Youth Sports Program ensures all Angelenos have the opportunity to access quality sports available from their local neighborhood recreation center and join the olympic movement. PlayLA will bring the fun with basketball and soccer inflatables!

The Los Angeles Department of Transportation (LADOT) Transit Team is ready to assist and educate the community with public transportation needs. They will be supporting seniors and students with applications for reduced-fare TAP cards while providing information on how to apply for free trips for low-income families. 

Come by and check out the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power’s (LADWP) booth to learn about their Electric Vehicle rebates and other discount programs.

East Side Riders Bike Club (ESRBC) will be providing free basic bike repair services and hosting a kids bike rodeo with opportunities to win free prizes (while supplies last).

 

Wilmington Waterfront Park Hub

The Office of Traffic Safety program will be providing FREE bicycle helmets & wheel Reflectors for youth ages 5-16 (while supplies last). They will also have free Bicycle/ Pedestrian Safety reading material for anyone to take and learn how to keep safe while riding or walking. 

The City of Los Angeles Youth Development Department will share more information about the City's Youth Council to help increase civic engagement and inform policy makers about youth concerns regarding the City. They will also inform the public about their mandate to work with the Economic and Workforce Development Department and 26 other Departments that have youth programs. Swing by and learn more about all of these opportunities for youth!

Stop by the AARP booth where they will be sharing information and giveaways.

Long Beach Bike Co-op will offer free bike repairs and adjustments to CicLAmini—Wilmington participants! Come check them out if your bike could use a once-over!

The Port of Los Angeles will provide information on the Port and any upcoming events, including promoting LA Fleet Week, May 24-27.

Stop by the Live Screen Printing booth and grab a FREE tote with the CicLAmini–Wilmington logo (while supplies last).

Come learn more about the Department of City Planning! They are currently working on the Environmental Justice Policy Program and will be handing out informational material and conducting activities to collect feedback. They will also have giveaways for participants!

The City Planning Department is conducting the City's first Climate Vulnerability Assessment and has partnered with community based organizations to conduct meaningful engagement in the most climate hazard impacted communities of the City. They are excited to have one of their community partners, SBCC, table with them to engage participants to share about their lived experience about climate hazards and hear about their ideas for mitigation strategies and desired resources.

CicLAvia has partnered with Unlimited Biking to provide on site bike rentals on 5/19 with pick up and drop off at the Wilmington Waterfront Park Hub! Check here to reserve a bike in advance for 2-hour, 4-hour, or entire day time slots. A limited number of bikes will be available to rent at the event on a first come, first served basis. Helmet rental is complementary.

The US Green Building Council of California is developing the Healthy Homes for Wilmington Program and will be joining to share information on environmental education, surveying participants, and also offering FREE electric equipment to Property Owners (while supplies last).

 

Along the Route:

BiciCrófono is a human-powered karaoke experience bringing the goodness and revolution of bicycles to communities across Los Ángeles. Their mobile bicycle stage is towed by a tandem bicycle, fueled by tacos, propelled by love for our city, and heals the soul one karaoke song at a time. Please join them and help Amplify The Message.

Join Tianguiz Cultural’s activation along Avalon between Opp St and I St! Discover and support local small businesses in the community while browsing through vintage clothes, handcrafted tumblers,enjoying refreshing aguas, sweets and Hawaiian shaved ice. Engage in some friendly competition with jumbo Connect Four and cornhole games. Plus, stay informed about upcoming Wilmington Neighborhood Council meetings and access valuable resources from the Wilmington Resource Center.

Hoop Bus Inc is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, whose mission is to amplify community engagement, inspire kids, and advocate for an inclusive and equitable society for all, with their vehicles of change and impact-driven programs. Team Hoopbus will be setting up basketball challenges throughout the day, including, 1v1s, 2v2s, shooting competitions, and more! You will also have the chance to see the inside of the Hoopbus, after you make a shot and get your Bus Pass. Come visit the Hoopbus to hoop with the community, participate in a shooting competition, or even challenge Team Hoopbus!

THE SKATESIDE will be setting up a mini skate park in the street and will be providing beginner skateboarding instruction!

Catch Snap Yourself!, the mobile photo booth, rolling along Avalon Blvd and be sure to take a photo to remember your day!

Join Avalon Arts and Cultural Alliance at Town Square Park where you can shop from a variety of local vendor booths and enjoy entertainment coordinated in partnership with the Boys and Girls Club featuring local youth groups! 

Join Avalon Arts and Cultural Alliance at the Creative Center and shop local at the Wilmington Store, play a game at the FREE arcade, create your own FREE Wilmington Tote Bag with Creative Flow, enjoy FREE children's crafts, have a drink in our Beer garden and dance to tunes by DJ Quatre Cinq! 

Stop by Waterfront Park and visit the Wilmington Historical Roadshow featuring never-before-seen photos of Wilmington’s finest.

Drop by the CicLAvia Play Zone for relaxation and fun! You'll find an assortment of classic board games and giant interactive games. Plus, test your skills with a round of bean bag toss!
