Rules of the Route

The safety and security of our participants is always a top priority at CicLAvia. We partner with city agencies to ensure both the visible and non-visible presence of security personnel and additional safety measures throughout the route. Teams of emergency responders are also on-site to respond to any medical or security emergencies. We encourage all participants to be aware of their surroundings and report any suspicious activity to security personnel. By working together, we can create a safe and enjoyable event for everyone.

The following are not permitted at CicLAvia, due to LA City law:

  • Unauthorized solicitation
  • Alcoholic beverages
  • Narcotics or illegal drugs
  • Bathing in pools or fountains
  • Damage to property
  • Feeding animals
  • Firecrackers or explosives
  • Firearms
  • Fires
  • Littering (including pet waste)
  • Public intoxication
  • Unauthorized driving or parking
  • Unauthorized vending
  • Unleashed animals
  • Weapons

E-bikes are allowed on the route, with some caveats, as long as they're pedaled (and not just ridden by motor). Read details here.

We're closely following LA County Public Health guidelines as we approach the event. We encourage everyone to bring a mask – whether to wear on the route or to be prepared for indoor places (public transit or restaurants & shops along the route) that require masking for everyone.

As consideration for being allowed to participate in a CicLAvia, all participants are deemed to have released from liability and waived any right to sue its organizers, their employees, officers, volunteers and agents from any and all claims, including claims of negligence, resulting in any physical injury, illness (including death) or economic loss suffered as a result of participating in this CicLAvia.

By participating in a CicLAvia event, each participant understands that there are risks, such as physical and/or psychological injury, pain, suffering, illness, disfigurement, temporary or permanent disability, death or economic loss. These injuries or outcomes may arise from a participant’s or other’s actions, inactions, or negligence, or the condition of the location (s) or facility (ies). Nonetheless, participants assume all known and unknown risks of participation in CicLAvia.
