I was lucky enough to attend the grand opening of Fruta Y Cultura and Cafe 'O Muerte earlier this year in Pacoima. These two shops, connected to Pacoima City Hall, employs local students and works with community groups around the area, such as Pacoima Beautiful. The shop also works with backyard growers, families from around the region, to supply much of their fruit. Read more about this awesome project here.
Right on the 3/6 route, Fruta Y Cultura & Cafe 'o Muerte (3520 Van Nuys Blvd, Pacoima) is the perfect place for a pit-stop during CicLAvia. Try the OJ and the cortado - my personal favorites :)
