With pre-approval, restaurants will be allowed to sample during CicLAvia (see criteria below):
Businesses wanting to distribute food samples or prepackaged items shall adhere to the following guidelines:
Outdoor Food Sampling: Established restaurants may sample their food by following the rules below.
- One table is set up directly in front of the restaurant and contiguous to the facility. No food prep is outside.
- The food is prepared in the kitchen and held in chaffing pans with lids at the required temperatures and utilize disposable plates to serve the samples
- The food is prepared and packaged within the facility and then held at the required temperatures for sale in front of the restaurant
- No additional permit is required, but restaurant must fill out sampling form (see below) by May 18, 2015.
Pre-Packaged Food Sales: Retailer may sell prepackaged food directly in front of their business.
- If the retailer does not currently have a Health Permit to sell prepackaged food, they must obtain a Temporary Food Facility permit by completing the TFF application along with payment. A TFF can be obtained at this link.
Please email responses to the questions below to [email protected] by May 18, 2015 to submit your business’ name and contact info for sampling or pre-packaged food sales. If necessary, the Pasadena Health Department will contact restaurants in need of permitting.
