Activities abound along the CicLAmini—Pico Union route! You can also check out shops, eateries, local gems, and activities along the route using our interactive digital map!

Hubs

All Hubs will have:

  • Free water stations and restrooms
  • First Aid stations
  • Free pedicabs – Pedicabs brought to you by L.A. City Councilmember Eunisses Hernandez, Council District 1. The pedicabs stop at each Hub's Info Booth, so just look for the sign! First come, first served.
  • Free basic bike repair (more info below)
  • Bike self-parking

Normandie Hub

🟫 Take a break and relax in the shaded seating area brought to you by 88.5, The SoCal Sound! In addition, their booth will be giving away concert tickets! Try your luck with their spinny wheel for some SoCal Sound goodies. 

🟢 BikeLA makes biking more accessible through a wide variety of policy, advocacy, education, and community-building work. Hear about resources and info about bike projects throughout LA County, including the expansion of Metro Bike Share. Get a bike light when you fill out the Metro Bike Share "Suggest a Station" survey (while supplies last).

🏛️ Swing by the City of Los Angeles Councilmember Hernandez (Council District 1) booth to meet the council district team that made many of these event activities possible. They’ll be sharing information about a multitude of city services. 

🎨 Enjoy some tunes from Loyola High School Alumni Group, Halo Halo Boyz! The Halo Halo Boyz consist of Eric Ares, F. Douglas Brown, Brandon Mitsunaga, and Frank Romero. This Afro/Asian/Latinx collective spins music that reflects their identities, their activism, and good old-fashioned get-down through soul music in general.

🏛️ LADOT will share information about Pico Boulevard safety improvements at both hubs. Speak with the team to learn more about the project. At the Union Hub, share feedback via an interactive activity.

🏛️ Visit the LADOT Transit booth for a variety of transportation support, including reduced fare TAP card applications, DASH and Commuter Express bus service information, and reloading TAP cards.

🔷 Metro Bike Share will host a pop-up rental station at the event so that folks can check out a bike directly at the Hub. In addition, they’ll provide bikes for test riding and information about Metro Bike Share and its perks.

🏛️ Learn more about the Vermont Transit Corridor Project’s goals with the Metro Vermont Transit Corridor BRT Team as they work to improve travel times and provide more reliable service. Discuss next steps while spinning the wheel to win cool Metro swag. 

🏛️ The Los Angeles Neighborhood Land Trust develops new parks and gardens in park-poor neighborhoods to expand access to green spaces for play, rest, and exercise. They’re excited to share seeds for guests to plant at home or in their community, as well as provide more information about their organization and community gardens.

🟫 Try out fun activities with the Santa Monica Blvd. Community Charter School: A Fenton Charter Public School (SMBCCS) Team. As one of five Fenton Charter Public Schools (FCPS) in the Los Angeles area, they have over twenty-five years of experience in successful charter management, implementing successful instructional practices, and holding the “whole child” to high standards. 

🏛️ City of Los Angeles - Youth Development Dept. is a youth resource that caters to anyone under 25. Swing by their booth for participant goodies (while supplies last)!

Along the Route:

🎨 BiciCrófono is a human-powered karaoke experience bringing the goodness and revolution of bicycles to communities across Los Angeles. Their mobile bicycle stage is towed by a tandem bicycle, fueled by tacos, propelled by love for our city, and heals the soul one karaoke song at a time. Supported by the office of Eunisses Hernandez, Council District 1.

🟫 Drop by the CicLAvia Game Zone for relaxation and fun! You'll find an assortment of classic games and giant interactive games. Plus, test your skills with a round of Bean Bag Toss.

🎨 Create Funky Foto Faces with support from Las Fotos Project's artists. In this collage workshop, participants create a one-of-a-kind self-portrait using materials like paper, scissors, glue, and washy tape. Las Fotos Project’s mission is to elevate the voices of teenage girls & gender-expansive youth from communities of color through photography and mentoring, empowering them to channel their creativity for the benefit of themselves, their community, and future careers. Supported by the office of Eunisses Hernandez, Council District 1.

🎨 Spark your creativity with Melrose Poetry Bureau. They’ll write free custom poems for attendees on manual typewriters at a station bound to unlock your story. Tell a poet what you need a poem about and watch them create a one-of-a-kind work of art just for you. All ages are welcome! Melrose Poetry Bureau (MPB) creates connection through ink for a wired-in world through innovative typewriter installations that engage the public in the creative act of writing. Supported by the office of Eunisses Hernandez, Council District 1.

🟢 PlayLA Youth and Adaptive Youth Sports Program offers free and affordable youth sports programs year-round, creating equitable access to quality coaching and facilities across Los Angeles. They’ll be offering two interactive sport inflatables, face painting, and resources at their station. 

🟫 Join THE SKATESIDE for a pop-up skate session designed for beginners! Their expert instructors will provide fun, hands-on guidance to help kids and first-timers build confidence on their skateboards. Plus, they will have their small ramp setup, which gives skaters a chance to practice new skills in a safe and supportive environment. 

🎨 Catch Snap Yourself!, the mobile photo booth, strolling along the route, and be sure to take a photo to remember your day! Supported by the office of Eunisses Hernandez, Council District 1.

🟢 Street Soccer USA-Los Angeles offers free-to-play, social-emotional learning-based youth soccer instruction across LA County. Stop by their booth and play with two pop-up soccer goals and futsal soccer balls. Don’t miss out on their two certified street soccer coaches supporting developmental instruction.

 

Union Hub

🎨 Angel City Sports will have a booth sharing information about adaptive sports around Los Angeles, as well as a few sports wheelchairs for participants to try. 

🏛️ Get FREE youth cycling gear from City of Los Angeles "Community Investment for Families Dept" (CIFD)! CIFD will provide bicycle and pedestrian safety information. To keep kids safe, FREE bike helmets and wheel reflectors are available for 5-12-year-olds (while supplies last). The child needs to be present.

🏛️ Visit the office of City Controller of Los Angeles, Kenneth Mejia to learn more about their upcoming projects, goals, the city’s budget, and audits as they relate to transportation efforts. 

🟢 CultivaLA’s mission is to transform access to healthy food and wellness through people, social enterprise, and environmental justice. Visit their booth to help you jumpstart your spring/summer garden by enjoying free veggie seedlings and compost.

🟫 Equitas Academy Public Charter Schools are a network of six public charter schools in the Pico Union community—four elementary and two middle schools. At their booth, they will be sharing information and giving away swag and balloons for attendees.

🎨 Global Arts Corporation enriches the lives of underserved youth through high-quality music education and a nurturing community, fostering personal growth and unlocking opportunities for a brighter future. Stop by to hear some live music by their own students!

🟫 Hand in Hand: The Domestic Employers Network and Instituto de Educación Popular del Sur de California (IDEPSCA) will offer bilingual “Know Your Rights” information for immigrant workers, allies, and employers of domestic workers. They’ll also have coloring pages, comic books on how to be a fair employer of domestic workers, tools for exercising your rights as domestic workers, and opportunities to take action together.

🔷 At the Immigo booth, they’ll be talking about their immigration services, community resources, and volunteer opportunities to the public. They will also have “Know Your Rights” information as well as information about our free citizenship classes.

🟢 L.A. Care is committed to the promotion of accessible, affordable, and high-quality health care. They will be hosting a lemonade stand where CicLAmini participants can hydrate with FREE lemonade and water. Snag some L.A. Care sunscreen, water bottles, and other swag (while supplies last).

🏛️ L.A. Works will be sharing information about their diverse volunteer opportunities across issues like education, homelessness, and environmental justice. Alongside promoting service, they’ll spotlight their Climate Pledge campaign — encouraging attendees to sign the pledge and commit to climate-friendly actions that support a more sustainable Los Angeles.

🏛️ LADOT will be sharing information about safety improvements along Pico Boulevard. Join them to learn more about the project and share feedback via an interactive activity.

🟫 The Los Angeles Public Library (LAPL) is excited to share an array of free library resources, information about their diverse programs and services, and facilitate sign-ups for new library cards. Attendees will also have the opportunity to get FREE books from the LAPL Book Bike (while supplies last)! 

🏛️ Neighborhood Empowerment will be promoting awareness of the Neighborhood Council system, opportunities for getting involved in your neighborhood to solve local issues and shape municipal policy, and distributing some giveaways (while supplies last)!
