Activities abound along the CicLAvia—Historic South Central meets Watts route! You can also check out shops, eateries, local gems, and activities along the route using our interactive digital map!

Hubs

All hubs will have:

  • Free water stations and restrooms
  • First Aid stations
  • Free pedicabs – the pedicabs stop at each Hub's Info Booth, so just look for the yellow umbrella! First come first served. Supported by LA County District 2 Supervisor Holly J. Mitchell.

Historic South Central Hub

🎨 Come experience Colour Bloc Creativ’s interactive booth, The Portrait Stop. Participants are encouraged to pause, have their portrait taken, and respond to a single prompt that reflects their personal story or perspective. Each photo and response contributes to a growing visual archive that celebrates the voices, beauty, and humanity of South Central and Greater Los Angeles as a whole by way of CicLAvia. Colour Bloc Creativ is an artist-run creativ studio and art book publisher located in South Central Los Angeles. In addition to publishing a biannual print publication called "Find Peace. Keep Peace. (FPKP Journal)." They also have a physical concept space in Leimert Park named Pillar. Artist Lorenzo Diggins, Jr., designed exclusive event t-shirts and buttons for purchase at our merch booths. This collaboration is supported by LA County District 2 Supervisor Holly J. Mitchell.

🏛️ Get FREE youth cycling gear from the City of Los Angeles Community Investment for Families Department (CIFD)! To keep kids safe, FREE bike helmets and wheel reflectors are available for 5-12-year-olds (while supplies last). The child needs to be present.

🟢 L.A. Care is committed to the promotion of accessible, affordable, and high-quality health care. Refresh yourself with FREE lemonade and water at their lemonade stand. Snag some L.A. Care sunscreen, water bottles, and other swag too, while you’re there.

🏛️ LADOT Transit will share info about TAP card benefits and help guests buy or reload cards with store/cash (value) or LADOT passes. They’ll highlight alternative transit options and assist seniors with Cityride applications.

🏛️ LA Metro’s LA River Path Project is a new bicycle and pedestrian path along an approximately eight-mile stretch of the Los Angeles River from Elysian Valley through Downtown Los Angeles to the City of Maywood. Stop by their booth to learn more and share feedback.

🏛️ L.A. South Chamber of Commerce is not your average chamber. They help local businesses thrive. To connect you to success, they’ll provide small business resources, an L.A. South Visitors Guide, and community resources.

🏛️ Come by and check out the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power’s (LADWP) booth to learn about their electric vehicle rebates and other discount programs. As the largest municipal utility, they’ll be providing information about water and power service in a cost-effective and environmentally responsible manner to the City of Los Angeles. 

🔷 Metro Bike Share will be on hand with educational resources and hands-on guidance on how to rent and dock a bike properly, as well as fun activities and prizes. In addition, Metro Bike Share will provide a temporary pop-up station accepting returns until 3:30 pm on event day. Be sure to stop by for cool swag, fun activities, meet the team, and ask them any questions about using Metro Bike Share all over LA County. All bikes are first-come, first-served and must be returned to a station when you are done riding.

🎨 Metro Sessions is an LA-based DJ, art, and activist community that has been livestreaming since 2018. They have DJs all over the city and are excited to bring DJs living and working in South Central and Watts to their booth! Come by and say hi, play games, and win prizes! Supported by LA County District 2 Supervisor Holly J. Mitchell.

🟢 Move LA is partnering with the LA Department of Transportation (LADOT) on Universal Basic Mobility (UBM)—a groundbreaking pilot program that provides multi-modal transportation options and financial resources to qualified low-income residents of South LA and South-Central. They’ll provide information on UBM projects and new streetlight EV car chargers, Stress Free Connections, e-bike libraries, mobility wallets, and more.

🟫 Serve Robotics will have demos of their robots and answer questions about their operations and opportunities to collaborate! Serve develops advanced, AI-powered, low-emission sidewalk delivery robots that endeavor to make delivery sustainable and economical.

🟫 WSS is your one-stop shop for top brands the whole family will love! Stop by the WSS booth for exclusive deals and directions to their S. Central store, where you can enjoy music, food, and giveaways.

🔷 Free basic bike repair provided by Bikerowave. Bikerowave is a volunteer-run community bicycle shop located in the Mar Vista area and is dedicated to empowering people to fix and ride their own bikes. 

🔷 Take a breather at the LAist shaded seating area—complete with umbrellas and picnic-style tables, it’s the perfect spot to relax, recharge, and snap your next great postable moment.

Central Ave for a fun-filled day featuring free food and drinks (while supplies last), exclusive WSS swag and giveaways, great music, and opportunities to connect with WSS Community Partners sharing helpful information and resources. South LA Eco-Lab partners will be together in the Jazz Park Hub to promote and gather feedback on Transformative Climate Communities (TCC) projects going on in the area. Learn more about how the South LA Eco-Lab plans to make South LA a greener, healthier place. You’ll find promotional goodies, community involvement opportunities, and more from these partners:

🏛️ For over 25 years, Strategic Actions for a Just Economy (SAJE) has worked side-by-side with our neighbors to advocate for tenant rights, healthy housing, and equitable development. Visit their booth to access eviction prevention tips, tenant rights resources, and invitations to free legal and tenant action clinics for both residential and commercial tenants. 

🟫 Strategic Concepts in Organizing & Policy Education (SCOPE) is building power for social and economic justice in LA communities. Connect with them to share your voice through a quick survey, pick up free swag, and receive an air purifier while supplies last!

🏛️ T.R.U.S.T. South LA will be providing information about community land trusts, housing and legal resources, anti-displacement information, and clean mobility resources as well as South LA Eco-Lab general information about all the projects. They will also be distributing air purifiers for residents while supplies last!

🟢 TreePeople will distribute fruit trees while hosting an interactive tree-planting demonstration. They’ll also provide educational materials and raffle off TreePeople merchandise to local residents.

🎨 DJ SouthLAnd’s Modern Grooves blend today’s hits and past classics to create an atmosphere sure to resonate with all participants! The vibes promote dancing, joy, and memories that last long after the music fades. Supported by LA County District 2 Supervisor Holly J. Mitchell.

🏛️ LA Metro is commemorating California Rail Safety Month in September by reminding Metro transit riders that “Safety Begins with You.” Stop by their booth to learn more about safety around Metro rails.

🏛️ LADOT will be sharing updates regarding safety improvements coming to Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. Join them to learn more about the project and share feedback. 

🎨 Catch Snap Yourself!, the mobile photo booth, strolling around the Jazz Park Hub area, and be sure to take a photo to remember your day! 

🏛️ Zapata-King Neighborhood Council (ZKNC) is a community-oriented branch of city governance representing 63,000 residents in city council district 9. They will be providing community resources and giveaways related to bike and pedestrian safety.

Florence Firestone Hub

🟫 Jump into the fun at the AARP California Play Zone! Enjoy games, chill in the shade, grab some fun freebies, and discover helpful tips for adults 50+ and their families at their booth.

🏛️ California State Assembly, Office of Assemblymember Sade Elhawary represents the 57th District of CA. Communities include South Central Los Angeles, Watts, Florence Firestone, and DTLA. Meet the team and learn about Elhawary’s initiatives.

🏛️ Visit the Community and Neighbors for Ninth District Unity Neighborhood Council (CANNDU NC) booth to learn more about their work. 

🟢 The Central City Community Health Center's mission is to provide quality health and human services to the underserved and low-income populations in a culturally sensitive manner. Stop by the booth for more information. 

🎨The Department of Cultural Affairs (DCA) will be honoring the legacy of "Angeleno Car Culture" by providing a space to adorn, decorate, and create vanity plates for your rides in the same spirit of creativity and individuality found throughout the roadways of LA. They encourage each participant to celebrate their culture, their community, and their joy of being in Los Angeles. 

🏛️ Los Angeles Clean Cities Coalition will have information about alternatives to gasoline combustion vehicles. They’ll also respond to questions about related efforts like current EV incentives and rebates and general questions from the public.

🏛️ Swing by the LA Metro Booth to learn more about the Florence bus lane project. The Florence Ave Bus Priority Lanes Project is an important step toward building a safer and faster multi-modal transit network in Los Angeles. Located along a 5.4-mile segment of Florence Ave, between West Bl and the Florence A Line (Blue) Station, the project would add bus priority lanes in both directions for Metro Line 111.

🔷Taking Metro to the event? Make your ride even better by cruising the new Rail to Rail Bike Path! This 5.5-mile separated bike path rides alongside Slauson Ave and conveniently connects you to the route. Visit the LA Metro booth to learn more. 

🎨 Piece by Piece empowers individuals who have experienced homelessness or economic insecurity through free mosaic art workshops. These workshops help participants build confidence, earn supplemental income, and enhance their overall well-being and quality of life.

🟫 CicLAvia has partnered with Unlimited Biking to provide on-site bike rentals on 9/14 with pickup and drop-off at the Florence Firestone Hub! Click here to reserve a bike in advance. A limited number of bikes will be available to rent at the event on a first-come, first-served basis. Helmet rental is complementary, and a portion of the proceeds are donated to CicLAvia.

Central Ave Hub

🎨 90.7 FM, KPFK Radio is a listener-sponsored radio station based in Glendale, CA. Swing by their booth for a live DJ set! It’s a perfect spot to take a break and groove to local beats—maybe even snag that Instagrammable moment. 📸

🏛️ The Empowerment Congress Southeast Area Neighborhood Council will be offering information about their projects and operations, making connections with area residents, empowering them to engage in local government.

🏛️ LA County Departments of Public Works, Arts and Culture, and Public Health are partnering on the Florence-Firestone for All—Safe Streets for All project. Representatives from each department will be there to share information, answer questions, and host an arts-based workshop centered around the cultural values of the Florence-Firestone community. 

🏛️ The LA County Department of Regional Planning provides equitable planning, development, and engagement for all unincorporated LA County residents and businesses to help create vibrant, sustainable, and resilient communities. Their long-range planning team will provide information and gather community feedback about emerging housing and infrastructure projects.

🔷 The Lead Free Homes LA program will test for and remove lead paint hazards from older homes where young children live, free of charge. Visit their booth for program enrollment eligibility and assistance with enrollment. 

🟫 Relax and play some games in the Play Zone brought to you by SCAG and the Go Human initiative—a community engagement program with the goals of reducing traffic collisions in Southern California and encouraging people to walk and bike more.

🟫 Streets For All is an advocacy group that believes in safe, sustainable transportation for all. Stop by their booth to learn more about their organization.

Watts Hub

🟢 Visit the AltaMed Health Services to learn more about their AltaMed PACE services and snap a pic in their photo booth.

🎨 Color Compton is an art & history organization grounded on BIPOC stories and narratives. They will be hosting a photo and printing activity station centering on the history of South Central Los Angeles.

🏛️ The Los Angeles City Planning Department staff will be on hand to provide useful information regarding the department. Visitors to the table will have the opportunity to participate in the "Spin the Wheel" game to win prizes.

🏛️ LA Metro's 105 Express Lane project is converting the current HOV lanes into two express lanes from Sepulveda Blvd to Studebaker Road. Stop by the booth to learn more.

🟫 Play a game of pickleball with PlayLA Youth and Adaptive Youth Sports. This activation reflects PlayLA’s commitment to creating welcoming spaces where every young athlete can thrive.

🟫 East Side Riders Bike Club, in partnership with SCAG’s Go Human initiative, will be giving out adult bicycle helmets while supplies last, as well as sharing information on upcoming safety classes and rides.

Near the hub: WLCAC, in collaboration with HOLA, will host a free family-friendly art activation where participants can paint canvases and design custom pouches. The activation will also feature a special art exhibition celebrating wheel sports.
