Activities Along the Route

Activities abound along the CicLAmini—Lincoln Heights route! You can also check out shops, eateries, local gems, and activities along the route using our interactive digital map!

Hubs

All Hubs will have:

  • Free water stations and restrooms
  • First Aid stations
  • Bike parking
  • Free pedicabs – provided by AARP CA, the pedicabs stop at each Hub's Info Booth, so just look for the sign! First come first served.
  • Free bike repair (more info below)

Ave 18 Hub

The LA Council District 1 team will be offering information about city services, flyers for upcoming events, and small giveaways.

Metro's LA River Path Project team will be joining CicLAvia to share information on their project, an eight-mile shared use bicycle and pedestrian path along the LA River between Elysian Valley and the City of Maywood, through downtown Los Angeles and the City of Vernon. Participants can share their feedback on design and project options and spin a wheel to win a prize. You can also sign up for project updates and take home more information about the project!

The LA City Clerk will be on hand to register attendees to vote and share ways for everyone to be more civically engaged, regardless of age or citizenship status.

Join the Getty for a day in the streets with activities for the entire family to enjoy! Participate in the free pit stop art workshop with artist Marcus Kuiland-Nazario where you can turn yourself or your ride into a mobile work of art; enjoy mobile cumbia performances from local band Poco Pocho, and bicycle karaoke from BiciCrófono; and view the "Super Steed" art bicycle created by artist David Nast Cole, inspired by Getty's medieval manuscripts.

Get ready to unleash your creativity with the "Funky Foto Faces" collage activity with Las Fotos! In this fun and vibrant workshop, you'll create an abstract self-portrait inspired by Las Fotos Project's "Esta Soy Yo" Class.

Visit the office of City Controller of Los Angeles, Kenneth Mejia, to learn more about their upcoming projects, goals, and the city’s budget! They will also be hosting raffles and games. 

Arrive early to get a free limited edition CicLAmini—Lincoln Heights tote bag live silkscreen printed on site (while supplies last)! OR bring your own blank textiles like shirts, totes, bandanas, etc. to be silkscreen printed with the CicLAmini design.

Visit the Los Angeles Department of Neighborhood Empowerment booth! They will be joining CicLAvia to share more information about neighborhood councils and will be distributing FREE LA City swag (while supplies last).

The Los Angeles Department of Transportation (LADOT) will be sharing valuable information on how to access their services, as well as details about local safety and mobility projects. Stop by to learn how LADOT is working to enhance your community's transportation experience.

The LADOT Transit team will be sharing information about their transit services, including the current offer of FREE DASH rides. They'll also provide assistance with TAP card applications and details on free ride programs for LIFE participants. Visit them to learn how you can take advantage of these resources!

BikeLA will be engaging on Metro's Mobility Wallet and BikeLA Advocacy around LA!

Bici Libre will be offering FREE bike repair at the Ave 18 Hub. They are a non-profit bike shop where tools, parts and used bicycles are available for free or at very low cost. Volunteer opportunities are available for any skill level, and Bici Libre aims to offer paid positions for skilled educators. Bici Libre is a Spanish/English bi-lingual repair and educational project.

Visit the AARP CA booth to learn more about their offerings, grab cool giveaways while supplies last, and enjoy classic board games in their Playzone!

Enhance your civic engagement this November by joining the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk team for the upcoming Presidential Election! They will be promoting a variety of job opportunities, and their team will be on-site handing out flyers and free promotional items. 

National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Glendale will be joining CicLAvia to offer resources that will help support the emotional well-being of you, your family, and your loved ones, available in both Spanish and English. Visit their booth for more information!

Join Plaza de la Raza Instructor America Madrigal-Herrera for a papel picado (paper cutting) workshop! Fun for all ages.

The Los Angeles Public Library Outreach Team is thrilled to share information about the free resources available to the community. Come join them for a fun session of arts and crafts too!

The Community Investment for Families Dept. (CIFD), will be providing FREE youth bicycle helmets for youth ages 5-17 years old (youth must be present, while supplies last). They will also have complimentary bike wheel reflectors, small safety items, and bicycle/pedestrian safety reading material.

Ave 33 Farm will be offering education about regenerative farming practices, passing out samples of compost for home gardens, and letting people know about the food access programs they have in Lincoln Heights! 

Healing Urban Barrios will be engaging in conversations with community members and sharing valuable resources at their booth. They’ll also have some merch to give away!

Come by and check out the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power’s (LADWP) booth to learn about their Electric Vehicle rebates and other discount programs.

Streets Are For Everyone will be educating individuals on street safety, organization activities, volunteer engagement, and information about their Finish The Ride and Run event. They will also have a spinning wheel where you can win some free stuff!

The City of LA’s Department of Cannabis Regulation will engage participants in a fun and interactive public information campaign centered on the health, safety, and risks of cannabis products (must be 21+). No cannabis products will be sold, distributed, or displayed. They will have games, prizes and premium giveaways.

LA Waterkeeper will provide interactive water conservation materials and share information about their ongoing volunteer opportunities.

RYKYS BIKES will be offering FREE Bike Repair at the Lincoln Park Ave Hub. They will be offering adjustments, tube replacements, and tips + tricks!

 

Along the Route:

El Rio Community School is excited to open their side yard gates to the Lincoln Heights community to make bike handlebar streamers, screenprint old T-shirts, and show why their unique Waldorf-inspired education and K-8 school are the perfect fit for your family.

Alliance Susan and Eric Smidt Technology High School will have a stage on the sidewalk. Smidt Tech is a vibrant high school in Lincoln Heights, dedicated to empowering students with 21st-century skills and real-world experiences. Their unique music program taps into the eclectic talents of our staff, whose expertise ranges from Mexican corridos to Punk, inspiring creativity in their students. They will be hosting a stage on Broadway featuring performances by their talented student and alumni bands. Stop by and experience the creativity and innovation that define their school community!

East Side Riders Bike Club (ESRBC) is hosting a Bike Rodeo open to everyone! Stop by for some fun and active movement.

PlayLA Youth and Adaptive Youth Sports Program will have an information booth and a rock climbing wall. Visit them for some fun!
