Activities Along the Route

Activities abound along the CicLAvia–South LA route! You can also check out shops, eateries, local gems, and activities along the route using our interactive digital map.

Hubs

All Hubs will have:

  • Free water stations and restrooms

  • First Aid stations

  • Bike parking

  • Free pedicabs – they stop at each Info Booth, just look for the sign! First come first served.

  • Food trucks

Crenshaw Hub

The Bureau of Street Lighting will be partnering with FLO, as part of CARB's sustainable transportation equity project (STEP) initiative, to talk about their electric vehicle chargers on streetlight poles program. They'll answer questions about EV chargers, take requests on installation locations, and have an actual charger on display to try out.

BlueLA powered by Blink Mobility is a smarter, greener transportation option for Los Angeles, improving the community and environment one ride at a time. It's also a part of the (STEP) initiative! BlueLA powered by Blink Mobility, is thrilled to connect with the community at the CicLAvia event, provide information on their service, and play some fun family games!

Visit the LACMA booth to learn about the Obama Portraits Tour and Black American Portraits exhibitions on view now. Receive an art kit with a portrait-making activity and art supplies (while supplies last). And take your picture in front of the portrait wall!

Mission Monarch powered by SAMO Fund and MRCA will be bringing Milkweed and Monarch trivia to share about these organisms amazing relationship, a display board of colored native plant pictures, examples of a few and how folks can learn what plants are native to their area; as well as a mini game where folks match wildlife to their native plant home. People will also have the opportunity to take the Monarch Recovery Pledge and learn about steps they can take to help bring the migrating population back.

Swing by the Metro Bike Share tents at the Crenshaw Hub to learn more about the bike share program, snap some pics in our photo booth, grab a bike and pick up a limited-edition Metro Bike Share pin! Metro Bikes will be available on a first-come, first-served basis at nearby stations and at the tent. Plan ahead and download the Metro Bike Share app to purchase a pass. Don’t forget to tag @bikemetro on social, and always remember to return your Metro Bike to a station or to a Metro Bike Share team member at either of the Crenshaw or Expo Park Hubs to end your trips!

MLK Hub

Shared Harvest | myCovidMD™ is committed to Service, Wellness and Relief through Health Equity Initiatives. Come get vaccinated against COVID-19! No appointment required. Vaccines are free and you will be entered into their raffle! Their team of qualified health professionals will be offering all three COVID-19 vaccines, including Pfizer for anyone 5 years and up.

Stop by LADOT’s booth to share your ideas for safer, more connected streets in South LA! Learn about proposed safety improvements and help shape design solutions for Western Ave, Denker Ave and surrounding neighborhood streets. Together with our community partners, and as a member of the (STEP) Initiative, LADOT is working to save lives and create more comfortable streets for everyone.  

The L.A. Zoo will participate with an information booth along with educational activities that will inspire curiosity and wonder about the animals that call the great city of Los Angeles home. The L.A. Zoo booth will consist of zoological artifacts, interactive games, and activities that you will be able to take with you on your ride home.

Expo Park Hub

The Lucas Museum of Narrative Art—a new museum under construction in Exposition Park. Drop by to learn more about the museum and grab an art kit to create your own narrative art at home!

Stop by the CA Science Center's booth and investigate seashells to learn more about the animals that once lived in them. Make observations and learn about this animal’s life using the leftover shells.

Learn what foods are growing in the heart of South LA by visiting the Community Services Unlimited booth. Their farm, the CSU/EXPO Urban Mini Farm, will be open for self-guided tours and on-going urban agriculture demonstrations. And if you’ve worked up a thirst, you’ll be able to grab a cup of a neighborhood favorite, the Village Market Place Cold Brew. 

Visit the SoCal Gas booth to get information about their customer assistance programs to help save on utility bills, and strike a pose at their interactive photo booth

Stop by the LA Phil's booth and learn about their upcoming season!

Does your child need a helmet? Stop by the California Highway Patrol booth and get fitted for a free kids helmet (while supplies last).

Central Ave Hub

Visit A Place Called Home's Crazy Color Congregation! Park your bike and pull up a chair to color in our giant coloring book then pull out your phone and take a selfie at our photo booth featuring colorful critters and friends from South Central! Capture a snapshot of your day at the Las Fotos Project photo booth.

The Office of Traffic Safety program is an educational program for the City of Los Angeles through the Community Investment for Families Department. It is a two-prong program, a child passenger safety, and a Bike/Pedestrian safety program. At CicLAvia, we will be providing safety tips on how to wear your helmet and ride your bike safely. We will also be giving Free Bicycle helmets & Bicycle wheel reflectors to young adults ages 18 and under.

Come visit the St. Johns Well Child and Family Center booth to learn more about the advocacy of health services they offer in South LA.

Stop by the pop up vaccine clinic and get your COVID19 Vaccine and Booster: Pfizer - (12 years +) 1st, 2nd, Booster, Pfizer Pediatric (5-11 years) 1st & 2nd, Moderna - (18 years +) 2nd & Boosters. No appointments necessary. Vaccines are free and insurance is not required.

Visit the Los Angeles Public Library booth to learn about library resources, services and interact with their StoryWalk® of Monica Brown's Waiting for the Biblioburro. StoryWalk® is an interactive way for children to learn new words, describe things and events, learn how to follow a story in sequence, and enjoy a story together.  (The StoryWalk® Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT, and developed in collaboration with the Kellogg-Hubbard Library. Storywalk® is a registered service mark owned by Ms. Ferguson.)
Our partners at LACI will implement an E-Bike library and launch an E-Bike repair course to provide career pathways for South LA community residents in early 2022. During this activation, community members will get an opportunity to test-ride E-Bikes and learn about enrolling in our upcoming green workforce training programs. LACI is another member of the (STEP) initiative to improve and expand green transportation.

LADWP will provide information about electric vehicle rebates, conservation tips, program discounts and rebates. You can also charge your phone while visiting our booth and spin a wheel for a prize. Come by our booth and take a selfie with the Conservation Squad and be sure to tag us. If everyone does their part in conserving water and energy, it doesn’t take a lot. ​
