Activities Along the Route

Activities abound along the CicLAvia–South LA route! You can also check out shops, eateries, local gems, and activities along the route using our interactive digital map.

Hubs

All Hubs will have:

  • Free water stations and restrooms

  • First Aid stations

  • Bike parking

  • Free pedicabs – provided by Angel City Football Club, the pedicabs stop at each Hub's Info Booth, so just look for the sign! First come first served.

  • Free bike repair (more info below)

Exposition Hub

Take a break and enjoy some shade at the Parklet, brought to you by the Southern California Association of Governments Go Human team, and check out their educational materials and giveaways.

Metro Bikes will be available on a first-come, first-served basis at the Exposition and Florence hubs. Plan ahead and download the Metro Bike Share app to purchase a pass. If you share some of your day on social, tag @bikemetro, and remember to return your Metro Bike to a station or to a Metro Bike Share team member at either of the Exposition Hub or the Florence Hub to end your trip.

BlueLA powered by Blink Mobility is a smarter, greener transportation option for Los Angeles, improving the community and environment one ride at a time. It's also a part of the (STEP) initiative! BlueLA powered by Blink Mobility, is thrilled to connect with the community at the CicLAvia event, provide information on their service, and play some fun family games!

The Lucas Museum of Narrative Art— a new museum under construction in Exposition Park — will have a booth, where you can learn more about the museum and grab an art kit to create your own narrative art at home.

As part of CARB's sustainable transportation equity project (STEP) initiative, LACI will implement an E-Bike library and launch an E-Bike repair course to provide career pathways for South LA community residents. During this activation, community members will get an opportunity to learn about community programs such as the E-bike library, the green workforce training programs and Founders Business Accelerator.

Get vaccinated (or boosted) against COVID-19 – No appointment required! Shared Harvest | myCovidMD™ is a nonprofit 501c3 with a mission to eliminate the shackles of student loan debt and elevate the culture of volunteering. Their volunteer health taskforce is committed to wellness, service and relief for the community and to support health professionals who advance health equity. Come be a part of this awesome block party and stop by the Shared Harvest booths at CicLAvia to get your vaccination and booster for COVID-19!  Enjoy great music, and take home a special gift tote of goodies. Tune into the live fireside chat providing information about how to stomp out student debt and how to keep your household safe from COVID. Kids are welcome! Qualified health professionals will be offering Moderna and Pfizer vaccines, including Pfizer for anyone ages 6 months and up. Insurance requested.

Stop by the LADOT booth: they seek to eliminate the immobility people experience due to racism and other systemic marginalization, cost burdens, and other forms of exclusion by adopting a Universal Basic Mobility (UBM) approach to transportation. The Sustainable Transportation Equity Project (STEP) offers an unprecedented opportunity to put UBM work into motion as a pilot program in South Los Angeles - delivering tangible and measurable results that will disrupt institutions and systems that breed inequity.

Western Ave Hub

LADOT will be sharing information about current and upcoming transportation projects happening in South LA. The LADOT team is excited to connect with local residents and visitors, and they will be distributing swag items for the community.  

The City of Los Angeles Community Investment for Families Department will be providing bicycle safety information on Safety tips, and will be giving away FREE Youth bike helmets and wheel Reflectors (while supplies last).

The Las Fotos Project, a photography mentoring organization from Boyle Heights, is excited to return to CicLAvia to offer their free community photobooth! Students from our career training program will be creating beautiful portraits that will be uploaded to Facebook to commemorate your day.

Sign up for a free LA Public Library card and look for the roaming Book Bike distributing free books to people with library cards.

Free Bike Repair at the Western Ave Hub is provided by Primo's Bike Shop.

Florence Hub

Mission Monarch powered by SAMO Fund and MRCA will be bringing Milkweed and Monarch trivia to share about these organisms amazing relationship, a display board of colored native plant pictures, examples of a few and how folks can learn what plants are native to their area; as well as a mini game where folks match wildlife to their native plant home. You can take home milkweed plants and seeds!

Community Services Unlimited will have information about Calfresh Assistance, Green Savings Program in partnership with LADWP, and the Village Market Place store and cafe. Their programs work to create a sustainable local food system where food is grown, distributed and bought within our own community, incorporating training and educational programs, the creation of jobs and entrepreneurial opportunities and supported by partnerships with regional farmers. 

LADWP will provide information about electric vehicle rebates, conservation tips, program discounts and rebates. You can also charge your phone, powered by a solar trailer.

The Youth Visionaries team of Creating Our Next LA, a program of LA Commons, will invite community members to make art and engage in dialogue around our community vision for a healthy and equitable Los Angeles. Community members will be invited to blockprint on hand fans and have their photo taken at our photobooth.

The LA County Registrar will be providing voter registration and upcoming election information.

Activities Along the route:

Capture your day with a photo at the roaming Snap Yourself photo booth! Keep an eye out for them between the Western and Exposition Hubs.

Stop by MLK Jr park at Western and 39th to visit the Los Angeles STEM Collective, where they will have information on local STEM programs, resources, and activities for the whole family. Visit their STEM Stations on event day, and answer a brief survey, and get a free limited edition CicLAvia <3 Parks Button!

Join People for Mobility Justice at Western Ave and 67th, as they host a Mobility Justice Lab to discuss and celebrate the principles of mobility justice in South LA. Participants can interact with a live mural painting, bicycle safety education classes, a mobility justice themed photobooth, and find opportunities to learn about exciting transportation projects coming to South LA. All to the vibrations of live DJ sets throughout the day. Stop by and enjoy some good vegan eats at Baba’s and help celebrate mobility justice in South LA.
