Thursday, August 30:

Check out Gili Yalo at the Skirball Center tonight in his LA debut! “Contemporary soul, funk, psychedelic rock, and traditional Ethiopian music” feature in the closing concert of this year’s Sunset Concerts series. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for a DJ set with Rani de Leon and concert to follow at 8 p.m.

Thursday, August 30:

The Silverlake Picture Show in Sunset Triangle Plaza is screening Get Out, a horror film written and directed by Jordan Peele.  Get there early to snag a spot and enjoy local grub and a pre-show with DJ Bookem at 6:45 p.m.

Friday, August 31:

Hop over to the last Beach Movie Night of the year at the Dockweiler Youth Center screening of Peter Rabbit starting at 8 p.m.

Friday, August  31:

Dance the night away in Grand Park with DJ Nights. Curated by influential artists and tastemakers who “give voice to Los Angeles’ dynamic and vibrant culture through music, dancing, arts and aesthetics” starting at 7 p.m.

Head to the LACMA for a jazzy evening with Sara Gazarek tonight at 6 p.m. “Blessed with a gorgeous, translucent voice, excellent pitch, and supple sense of time, Gazarek is steeped in the jazz tradition, but is not afraid to embrace the music that moves her generation.”

A jam-packed music weekend at the Levitt Pavilion! Friday at 7 p.m. Jungle Fire & Here Lies Man, Saturday at 4 p.m. Wonder-Full - A Stevie Wonder Celebration, and Sunday at 7 p.m. Havana Secret & El Haru Kuroi

Get your end of summer food and drink fix at Brooklyn transplant Smorgasburg LA found at the Alameda Produce Market in DTLA from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
