Participants can delve deeper into the CicLAvia-Pasadena route by enjoying CicLAvia’s Pasadena Neighborhood Guide, written by Andrea Richards and designed by Colleen Corcoran. Readers will discover that several buildings in Pasadena’s historic core, the area known as Old Pasadena, are directly related to a turn-of-the-20th-century bicycling craze. In fact, almost half a century before the Arroyo Freeway, there were plans to connect Los Angeles to Pasadena via an elevated bicycle path.
