Cue the countdown! Only a few days separate us from the start of the 2019 CicLAvia season. In the meantime, we've gathered some free opportunities to learn, exercise, volunteer, and have fun this week.

To kick off our 2019 season, we're returning to one of Los Angeles’ favorite car-free event locations, CicLAvia–Culver City Meets Mar Vista + Palm. By way of vibrant corridors normally packed with cars, this popular route connects downtown Culver City to Mar Vista. For this, our 29th CicLAvia, we’ve added stretches of the route into Palms and Culver City’s Arts District.

In the spirit of Valentine's Day, all of us at CicLAvia have been reflecting on what we love about the LA region. We all recently penned love notes to this city that holds a special place in each of our hearts. And we wanted to share them with you, the community of people who care as much about LA as we do.

We’re very excited to honor journalist Alissa Walker and AARP in Los Angeles with the Spirit of CicLAvia Award at our 3rd annual pLAy day in LA fundraiser on Sunday, February 10.

End the year on a jolly note with Candy Cane Lanes, tar pits, and stand-up comedy classes. They're all free and great opportunities to show off the best LA has to offer to out of town guests. 

By the look of the photos that flowed onto social media, Heart of LA 2018 was another memorable CicLAvia Sunday for tens of thousands of Angelenos. These snapshots of individual experiences paint a picture of both the joy of our events and what made Heart of LA 2018 uniquely special. 

LA weather is cooling down but the free holiday events are heating up. From play readings to sledding, dog adoptions to star parties, there’s plenty to keep you busy as the holiday season continues.
